Six Years of FERN+FELL: A Thank You, and a New Look
A note on our sixth birthday - the people who got us here, and what's changing (and what isn't).
Six years ago, FERN+FELL started with a simple idea: that fragrance, done thoughtfully, could bring a little more nature and a little more calm into everyday life at home. No grand plan, no big launch - just a candle, a flame, and a belief that a moment of stillness was worth making space for.
Today marks our sixth birthday, and we wanted to take a moment to do something we don't do nearly often enough: say thank you.

Every candle we've ever poured has, in some way, been shaped by you. The way you've described what our fragrances remind you of. The rituals you've built around lighting a candle - the end of a long day, a Sunday reset, a quiet hour before everyone else wakes up.
You have told us, over and over, that FERN+FELL isn't just something you buy; it's something that helps you connect to a feeling. That has guided every decision we've made since.
And more than anything, you've told other people. FERN+FELL has grown almost entirely through word of mouth - a recommendation here, a gift there, a candle spotted on someone's shelf that led to a question and, eventually, a new customer. There is no better compliment than being passed from one person to the next, and we're endlessly grateful for it.

We're equally thankful to the independent shops and stockists who welcomed FERN+FELL onto their shelves early, and who continue to introduce our fragrances to new customers every day. Being chosen by a retailer who could stock anything - and having them choose us - has never stopped feeling like an honour.
One collaboration in particular sits close to our hearts: Our Candle, created with chef Simon Rogan. It began as a conversation about ingredients, place and seasonality - the same instincts that shape a plate at Simon's tables - and became a fragrance that reflects a shared philosophy: that the best things are rooted in nature, made with intention, and designed to be noticed slowly. We're proud of what we made together, and grateful Simon trusted us with it.
What's new: a simplified look, built around the flame
Six years on, the fragrances at the heart of FERN+FELL haven't changed. What has changed is how we present them - a considered refresh designed to let the candle itself do more of the talking.
A simplified label. We've stripped things back to a cleaner, quieter design - and repositioned it so that, once lit, more of the glass is left clear. The result is more of that gentle, flickering flame visible as it burns, which was always the point of lighting a candle in the first place.
New black lids. A small change with a big effect - a more considered, cohesive finish on the shelf and at home.
New names for our wellbeing collection. Same fragrances, same formulations, new names that finally say what the candles have always done. Some carry an invitation - to Pause, Rest, Revive, Restore. Others speak to a feeling we seek - Bright, Balance, Breathe. Every name was chosen to help you find the right moment, faster. Fragrance that roots you in a feeling.
If there's one thing that hasn't changed in six years, and never will, it's this: everything at FERN+FELL is rooted in a feeling, a moment, and an intention to connect to nature through fragrance at home. The label might look different. The lid might be a new colour. Some of the names might be new. But light one of our candles, and you'll find exactly what you always have - a small, deliberate pause in the day.
