I love collaborating. Something special always comes from working with a creative you admire. I have been a fan of the work of Cumbrian based ceramic artist Catriona Archibald since I moved to Cumbria. I love her unique style which is bold and colourful, I really sense how Catriona is inspired by mid-century style in her work.
When Catriona launched her match striker earlier this year I was first in the queue at Hesta Scene to buy one. A beautiful mid-century inspired surface design that is such a perfect fit for my vintage home. I am always a fan of anything beautiful that is also useful - design with function.
I have been planning to develop my gift sets in 2022 and love the idea of collaborating with fellow Northern creatives. Right away I knew I wanted to collaborate with Catriona to design a match striker that would be the perfect fit for one of my new gift set, which pairs the striker pot with a candle.
The design
With an off white base, the pot features a brown gloss glaze “splatter” design – I love how the glaze catches the light. The brown glaze was chosen to compliment the amber glass of the candle jars. It’s a simple design that will compliment any interior design style.
The match pot comes complete with dark tipped matches. It is presented, along with a candle of your choice in a brown kraft gift box. You can also order any of my limited edition seasonal fragrances for the gifts set.
This is a great gift idea for your favourite candle lover and indeed a special treat for yourself. Every stylish coffee table will want one.
